PIPE WRAPPING PROCEDURE
1. SURFACE CLEANING: CLEAN THE SURFACE OF THE STEEL PIPE TO REMOVE ANY RUST, OIL OR GREASE, SAND OR GTIR. BLASTS THE SURFACE OF THE STEEL PIPE TO SA2 LEVEL OR EQUIVALENT, OR MANUALLY TO ST3 LEVEL, MEET SYJ4007-86 REQUIRMENTS.
2. PRIMER APPLY: KEEP AWAY FROM FIRE WHEN APPLYING THE PRIMER. USING CLEAN BRUSH OR ROLLER, OR ANY OTHER MECHANICAL WAY TO APPLY PRIMER, MAKE SURE IT COVERS THE ENTIRE SURFACE OF THE PIPE, MANUALLY 6M2/L, MECHANICALLY 10M2/L.
3. 5-10 MINS AFTER THE PRIMER GETTING DRY, THEN APPLY THE TAPES.
4. THE WIDTH OF THE TAPE SHOULD MEET THE NEEDS OF DIA OF THE PIPES.
5. ROLL UNBINDING TEMPERATURE >5°C, APPLICATION TEMPERATURE >-5°C. WHEN TEMPERATURE IS BELOW -10°C, ON ORDER TO ENSURE THE ADHESION OF TAPES, PRE-HEATING THE PIPE OR THE TAPE IS RECOMMENDED.
6. MECHANICAL WRAPPING MACHINE IS RECOMMENDED OR MANUALLY WHEN THE MACHINE COULD NOT BE APPLIED WHILE THE WIDTH OF THE TAPES NARROW. IF THERE IS WELDING SEAM, PLEASE FILL BOTH SIDES BY FILLING MATERIALS. IF THE WELDING SEAM IS SPIRAL SHAPE, ALONG THE SPIRAL WAY WHEN WRAPPING THE TAPES.
7. WHEN APPLYING THE TAPES, OVERLAPPING NO LESS THAN 1/4 PIPE PERIMETER, AND NO LESS THAN 100MM. SOAK THE END 20MM OF THE TAPE TO PRIMER BEFORE WRAPPING IS RECOMMENDED. THE OVERLAP IS 50-55% SUGGESTED. IT SHOULD ENSURE CERTAIN TENSION DURING THE INSTALLATION TO MAKE SURE THE SURFACE SMOOTH WITHOUT ANY BUBBLES.
8. WRAPPED TAPES SHOULD BE SMOOTH, WITHOUT BUBBLES, WRINKLES OR DAMAGES.
